Registration Update: Wow, That Was Fast!

We are still catching our breath after what happened this past weekend. Wow, you really want to come to Kelowna! 😄
Registration for the 2026 Yonex Canadian Masters Championships opened at 12:00 PM (PST) on January 30, and by 4:00 AM the following morning, less than 16 hours later, we had reached our full capacity of 300 players.
We may have set some kind of record here - while we can’t say for certain, this level of demand is something we’ve never personally seen before. For comparison, when Kelowna last hosted Nationals in 2010, we welcomed close to 300 entries, with 78 players registering in the final hours on closing day. To reach full capacity in under 16 hours is something unheard of.

We’re incredibly grateful for the overwhelming enthusiasm and support from the Masters badminton community. The response has been tremendous, and we truly appreciate everyone who took the time to register, message us, and share their excitement for this event.
We also understand that some players were unable to secure a spot, and that in some cases, named partners were not able to register in time. Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate any additional entries at this point.
Our 300-player cap is determined by the amount of court time available. This limit is in place to ensure the tournament runs smoothly and remains enjoyable for everyone attending.
Follow-Ups, Requests & Entry Changes 📩
We’ve received a large number of messages and requests since registration closed. Please know that we acknowledge all of them and will respond to each in due course. Thank you for your patience as we work through the volume.
We would also like to clarify that the ability to amend events through the tournament software is no longer available. This functionality was withdrawn by the tournament software some time ago and will not be reinstated.

All changes will be handled manually by the organizing team.
Accommodation Update – Coast Capri 🏨
As a final note, a small number of rooms may become available at our Tournament Host Hotel, the Coast Capri, over the next few days, as not all registered hotel guests were able to secure a spot in the tournament.
If you’re still looking for accommodation, we recommend keeping an eye on availability.
